A clean surface for hygienic ductwork

TTM supplied approximately 1,000 m² of ISOLPAK® ALU for the cladding of indoor ductwork in a pharmaceutical production environment in Japan. About 1.5 hours away from Tokyo.

The project required a clean, smooth and easily maintainable surface. Dust accumulation had to be minimised, while the upper surfaces of the ducts needed to withstand regular manual cleaning.

ISOLPAK® ALU was selected as an alternative to conventional metal cladding in order to reduce costs and shorten the construction period.

Particular attention was given to the flange joints. A specific insulation thickness and installation method were selected to eliminate visible steps at the joints.

This created a smooth, uniform and easy-to-clean surface across the ductwork.

“To reduce costs and shorten the construction period, we proposed using ISOLPAK ALU instead of conventional aluminium jacketing. To prevent dust accumulation, we also recommended a specific insulation thickness and installation method that eliminated steps at the flange joints. This solution was successfully implemented.”

ABOUT ISOLPAK ALU

ISOLPAK ALU is TTM’s multilayer aluminium jacketing solution with a core of pure aluminium sealed beneath a durable UV-protection film.

It provides the clean metallic appearance of conventional sheet-metal cladding while remaining lightweight and easy to process. The material can be cut, formed and installed entirely by hand without specialised machinery.
